Football If you thought Fall was the only season for Football, tune in for some good news! Now thanks to the #1 selling sports CD-ROM series for kids, Junior Sports, you can enjoy the thrill of the game all year long. It's Backyard Football! As a member of the BFL, (Backyard Football League) you will team up with the NFL's Quarterback Club to experience a unique gaming experience where the 'real' Pro Players take the field… as kids! The game begins in the BFL Clubhouse, where you sign in as coach. There are plenty of decisions that must be made before game time: Selecting field types; weather conditions; team name and color; and difficulty level of the game. Next, as coach, it's your job to 'draft' players for your team. While each of the players in the neighborhood has a unique personality and set of playing abilities, the right combination will make for a winning team. Once team members are chosen, head over to the Team Bench, to select play strategies that offer the best potential for your team. Player positions and strategies for offense, defense, kick return, and kickoff must be considered. From the Team Bench, you'll go right to playing some Backyard Football! Before the game actually begins, you will hear a brief commentary by sports announcers, Sunny Day and Chuck Downfield (who, at the age of nine, was inducted into the BFL Hall of Fame). They will remind you which teams will be playing, the location of the team, the weather conditions and if a League Game, what is at stake. During game-play, as coach, you can direct the action of your players; change plays and call time outs as needed. For later reference, player statistics are recorded throughout the game for both teams. And remember that the option of using the computer as your 'assistant coach' is always available. The computer can randomly select players and team strategies for you if requested. Backyard Football is an excellent and entertaining introduction to football! The three levels of play and various options provide an opportunity for unlimited and exciting possibilities of football game-play. Where else can kids take the field with quarterback Brett Farve and wide receiver Jerry Rice? While the recommended ages for this title are 5-10 years, football enthusiasts of all ages will find this one both fun and irresistible. Try the 'two player option- a real favorite in this house.
